What's Been Going On

I thought it would be a good time to update my blog since I have been M.I.A since February. The best way to do this is through pictures...a good way to document memories. :) Warning: There is a LOT of pics...

In February, I went to a Holocaust workshop, and I had the privilege of hearing a Holocaust survivor. Meet Ms. Tennenbaum. Her story is absolutely amazing, and full of history. It was such an honor to be able to hear her share her story.

My great-grandmother (Ma-Maw) loves to socialize! We like to go out to dinner every now and then. Her favorite place is Fire Mountain because they  have fried chicken and catfish. I cherish the time we spend together. Here is a picture of a night that I took her to my aunts for a fish fry. It was LATE and it had been a long day...but I wanted to have a picture of our time together. She always makes me laugh :)

The first weekend of March, we threw my sister a baby shower. She actually just had her baby last weekend (which I will update with pics soon).
That same night, we had a girl's night with my dearest friends for Jessica's (below) birthday! Here is a picture of Danielle and myself at Bonefish. The Bang Bang Shrimp is delish. You should try it if you haven't. It was my first time to eat there and it was yummy!
And here is the birthday girl. I love these girls so much. I love how we always celebrate with Flour Girls cupcakes. They are like heaven in your mouth. I love how we always laugh until we can't breathe. I love how our time together is always uplifting. They are a blessing to me!
I also watched my little brother (and sister, who I did not get a picture of) play ball. I am so proud of Jeremiah! He has grown into such a cute young boy. And his baseball skills aren't too shabby either. He plans on trying out for the Middle School Baseball team and I will be ecstatic if he makes it. He can throw a ball like nobody's business! :)
And here is the running champ and the used-to-be-runner spectator. Every year in Mobile, we have a race called the Azalea Trail Run. It's one of the biggest 10k's in the United States. Carrie loves to run and she is excellent at everything (I swear she's a genius or something!). Anyway, I was supposed to get their early and hold her stuff for her and bring it to the finish line. However, I got there like 2 minutes late, so she ended up running 6 miles with a cell phone and her car keys. I felt so bad...but it didn't slow her down, ha! I guess that's what you call memories!

Okay, so we are still in March. Here is my sweet friend Jessica at her baby shower for Baby Graham. I promise, if you ever need a party planned, her and her momma are the people to hire. They can put together a spread for sure. Obviously, we kept Jess out of the planning of this shower, but her momma had it all under control. I didn't get any pics of the actual shower, which I definitely should have! :(
Moving on to April....first trip to the beach for 2012. This was such a relaxing day. I was in the smack dab middle of student teaching and I was under so much stress....it was good to get away for a day...This is Kim & myself. We had lots of fun! We ate at R&R Seafood on our way home. One word---GOOD. They had these corn nuggets that will make you slap your knee they were so good--and blackened shrimp!! Yummy!
Easter!!! This is Tiffany & myself after church on Easter Sunday. I ate myself sick on good country cookin! Ha!
 Whitney & myself on Easter...
One of the good perks of being a teacher is that you get a Spring Break. I was able to go and see Grace get awarded her BLUE belt at Taekwondo. Never would have thought she would love it as much as she does, but I'm so proud of her!
And guess what came in the mail over Spring Break??? Graduation Invitations!
The second half of Spring Break, I took a mini-vacation to Orange Beach. It was fantastic!!!! Our condo had a lazy river in it & I was in heaven. I read a book and floated ALL day long. Literally.
Here is Olivia and me and a youth cookout/birthday party. This was like the 12th attempt at taking this picture. I learned on this day that when it is 98 outside and you go to the beach, apply sunblock BEFORE you get there. I had been in the sun all day and I was a little burnt.  OUCH.
And THEN, at the beginning of May, I finished my semester of student teaching at Satsuma. One of the best learning experiences, as well as one of the most stressful. I'm so thankful for my time there, and for all that my cooperating teacher taught me! Can't wait to have a classroom of my own!
Jess & I went for a little girls day before she had Graham. It was one of the best days!!!
Can you guess what we are going??? Our feet were SO soft when we left there...they took our pedicures VERY serious.
Here is Baby Graham!!!!!!!!!! How sweet! I was so glad I could be at the hospital for this special day!
The very next day, my sweet friend Kirstie took some graduation pics for me. We took them all around the campus of the university. I thought they turned out really well, and we had a lot of fun!!
 Can you see the excitement??
I think this speaks for itself....but I will say--College Graduations are not as personal as high school ones are...memorable, but not as personal!! ha!!
My mom came in from Illinois and had a condo at the beach the week after my graduation. So guess where I was...right here on this white sand...soaking it all up!

This is me and my little sister Emily...on the way home from the beach one day. I love that I can get to the beach in a little over an hour!!

So that's just a small update of what I've been up to...I need to post some more pics of the past few weeks....coming soon!
