Twenty-Seven

A week ago, I turned 27. That just seems so old!! But, I'm hanging on to my youth by applying more anti-wrinkle creams and skin-firming serums every day! Ha!!!

That morning, I got up and went to the gym (woohoo!), and I came home to this:
Yes, that would be a LOT of chocolate chip cookies. My lovely, thoughtful, room-mate (and awesome friend) wanted to make sure that I remembered how old I was! She also had a Happy Birthday banner in the kitchen, but I didn't take a picture of that. I had to call in the troops to help me eat all of those cookies!!

That day, for lunch, I met Carrie (my lovely, thoughtful, room-mate and awesome friend) and our friend Jessica for lunch at Newks. LOVE that place! I was so excited to see "little" Jessica! We met her a few years ago when we were in Master's Commission and we have just stayed in touch ever since. She just graduated from high school, and she is starting at Auburn this week. Roll Tide! Here is a picture from our lunch (Jessica is on the left and Carrie is on the right in the top picture):

My birthday fell on a church night and I work in the youth department, and they ALL sang "Happy Birthday" to me that night. It was really sweet (and embarrassing!)!! After church, we followed our ritual and went to the mexican restaurant. We go every Wednesday after church. Well, guess what they do for your birthday? They bring out the Sombrero and smash cool whip in your face after they sing their little "diddy" in Spanish!

I'm just gonna say that I think there should be an age-limit for humiliation in a restaurant. And 26 should be the cut-off! Hahah!!

Saturday night, my sweet friends Jessica, Danielle, and Mrs. Marsha (Sha-Sha) took me out for my birthday! We always do something special for each other on our birthdays. We went to Bonefish. SO good!!! I got a smothered pork chop and it was delicous!!

Afterwards, we went back to the house and had these! I LOVE Flour Girls' Cupcakes! They fill them with this custard stuff. My favorite is the butter flavored cake with the vanilla center! Yum!!!

I had a great birthday week!! I'm still celebrating! :) My pastor's wife made me the BEST peanut-butter cake that ever could be made for my birthday and it is SO good! I haven't stopped eating since last Wednesday which leads me to this picture:

26 was such a good year for me! I feel like I've turned a page into a new chapter and I'm looking forward to the next year! Here's to year #27!!
