Weekend Spindown

Hey y'all!!! Happy Monday!!!

This weekend was rather busy!! First of all, this was Friday afternoon when I got off work...you know sometimes you are just ready to GET OUT of the office?? Yea, this was one of those days!! Hahahahah!!

I had to go to a meeting with my fellow Premier Jewelry gals and we had so much fun! We played in the NEW jewelry, ate pizza, and talked about our favorite new pieces! We are all pretty good friends and it is always good fellowship. I'm thankful for Premier!!!

Saturday morning, I had a baby shower for one of my best friends, Danielle. I am SO excited for her and can't wait to meet sweet Maci! Isn't she just the cutest thing??

Her shower was out.of.this.world. My best friend Jessica is quite the event planner. She has an eye for decorating, and she LOVES to go all out. I love her creativity. It is definitely her calling :) Here are a few of the shower decorations!

Saturday night, I had a "Sweet 16" birthday party to go to for a couple of teenagers that go to my church. It was at a stable that was beautiful! It was a fun night--even for this "almost" 27 year old!! Here is a picture of Kim and Tiffany (mom and daughter) at the party...it's pretty much the only decent picture I got; my phone died right after this!

Yesterday, my best friend Jessica and her husband dedicated their newest baby to the Lord. I went to church with them and it was such a special day. Little Graham is the BEST baby and he is precious as well! :)

Afterwards, we all went to Shogun (hibachi), and ate some yummy food. It was 100 degrees outside, and 100 degrees INSIDE. I'm not real sure what was going on with their air...but we were all so hot!!!

This was us at the restauraunt. I love these girls...we always laugh and have the best time!! I'm thankful for good friends!!!

THIS was what my car read at 5:00 yesterday afternoon....I literally thought I was going to MELT!!! Haha!

Last night we had a fellowship at church, and I didn't get any pictures of that, but we all had a wonderful time!!

Olympics 2012

I am so excited that the Olympics are starting TONIGHT!!

I can't wait to see the opening ceremonies...and I'm really excited to watch the coverage every night! Summer Olympics are my favorite...well, really I like the Winter Olympics too....haha!

I hope the USA pulls a lot of GOLD medals!! I'm following lots of Olympics reporters on Twitter and it is getting me pumped!

I wanted to get an Olympic shirt to wear to work today to celebrate, but they were WAYY over priced at Old Navy. No way I'm paying $27 for a cheap t-shirt!

Next time (you know, in 2 years for Winter Games, or in 4 years for Summer), I want to have an Olympic Opening Ceremony party! I think that will be fun! I didn't think about it until too late...but I may end up at Wing's one night watching the coverage! That would be fun!

Midweek Confessions!

Heyyyyy!!!!!!

--I have developed a jewelry buying problem. I sell Premier Jewelry & love every bit of it--but these statement necklaces have sucked me in!!! Love love love them. Have y'all checked out Bridier Baubles stuff?? You will be addicted too.

--Me & my roommate have been playing Scrabble every night. She always wins. English majors. They are walking dictionaries.

--I have been so lazy lately. At work. At the gym. Ugh. I've got to get motivated.

--This is my third post in a week and a half. I'm getting better!

--McDonald's coffee is my new obsession. Seriously, $1.09 for a coffee that taste better than Starbucks regular brew AND McDonald's has the ability to put whip cream on top. gogetsome.

--I can't wait for the Olympics. I'm so excited. I love the Olympics---everything about it! I love watching the swim and gymnastics and track and field. Those are my favorites!

--Did y'all watch The Bachelorette finale?? I will confess that I didn't get into this season that much until the end, though. Aren't Emily and Jef (with one F) so cute?!?

--I'm not a fan of the Bachelor Pad. Too dramatic. It's really too much on many levels for me.

Trying to get a little creative!

So, I've had a blog for a couple years or so, and my blog layout is pretty plain compared to others on the blogosphere. I've been contemplating getting a professional blog design done for my blog for several reasons:

1. Having it done the right way gives it much better quality. I'm not sure where I created mine..but you can tell it's a little blurry, etc....

2. I think it will motivate me to blog more. I created a blog to document memories, etc...and sometimes I don't take the time to upload pics, etc...but I want to...and I think having a fresh makeover will motivate me. Maybe I'm weird...I dunno. ha!

3. This is totally irrelevant to this  blog, but when I have my own classroom, I want to create a "teacher" blog to keep parents updated, etc. When I do that, I'm for sure going to have it cute and eye-catching...I want to make it "welcome-y" (I know that's not a word, but hey!).

So,  I've been following Leslie's personal blog and she has mentioned several times that she does blog design. I've checked out her designs and she is really creative! I've been thinking about a creative title for my blog so when I'm ready to purchase a makeover, I'll have an idea of what I want.

Well, this morning I see on her twitter feed that she is hosting a GIVEAWAY! I've never entered any giveaway on any blog network (or rather anything at all), but I thought this would be fun since I've already been thinking about using her design anyway!

Just a Bunch of Stuff.....

Hey y'all! I haven't blogged in a while, so I thought I would give a little update with a bunch of random things. I need to do better, so much better about keeping this thing updated. I know, I know, I say that every time.

--I still have not found a teaching job for the upcoming year. Things are not looking very promising for any new teacher right now. Not exactly what I had in mind, but I'm just trying to go with the flow.

--Because of the current teaching situation, I've decided to get certified to teach Middle School Math. There is SUCH a high demand for math teachers, that the school system in my community is giving sign on bonuses. Two words: job security. So, I'm about to get a study guide to start preparing for the Praxis. Help me, Lord. Anyone that knows anything about me and the Praxis, knows that we go wayyy  back. Thought I would never have to take that bless-ed test again, but oh well.

--I'm hoping to be able to go to the beach this weekend. It's been raining catsanddogs for the past 2 weeks and quite frankly, I'm just sick of it! Not just the typical Mobile showers, but like earth rattling lightening storms and the rain that falls so hard that you can't see an inch in front of you. Isn't like the rest of the country in a drought or something? Seriously--the rain needs to go there.

--Yesterday, me and my room-mate decided we wanted to play Scrabble. So, I went to Wal-Mart and bought the game. I'm sure everyone else already has that game in their house buried somewhere, but we didn't. But now we do. The new, bright colored version with the black velvet letter bag. Ha. Anyway, we had so much fun! I thought I was going to win at first because I was getting lots of points, but Carrie beat me. Figures. That's ok--we will have more rematches. Fo sho. :)

--I'm wearing color stay lipstick today. The CoverGirl kind. It's the only CoverGirl makeup I own, actually. But, this stuff should be labeled lip paint. I'm serious! You have to let it dry on your lips to "set" before you put the gloss on. It's makes my lips all stiff and stuff. But they don't play when they mean color stay. This bad mama-jama will be on my lips till tomorrow morning I'm sure. Ha!!

--I'm a lover of gadgets and all things cute. So, me finding all of these online boutiques and shops is not benefitting my budget at all. And they keep updating it with new stuff. I'm obsessed with these statement pieces of jewelry. I seriously want everything!!!

--I want a new blog design. I created my current one...but it took absolutely forever and there is nothing to it at all. I'm thinking about hiring a blog designer to make me a really cute one. I think it will encourage me to blog more.

--The youth group at my church is currently in Tennessee about to get ready to go white-water rafting. I was a little jealous that they are there while I'm at work. That is, until I got on Twitter this morning and saw their tweets at 3:00 am, 4:00 am, 5:00 am, and I figured out that the "girl cabin" never went to sleep. Suddenly, I got really excited that I was in Mobile and not there. I have lost my "spunk" to pull all-nighters like that. I couldn't do it in college with exams pressing--so there is no way that I'm going to do it for fun! Yes,  you can call me Grandma!

--Last thing, I love Instagram. I'm smm1985, if you want to follow me...but that's beside the point. For about a year and a half, I swear I thought it was a photo-editing tool. Once I found out it was a form of social media, I thought it was dumb. Until I figured it out...and now I LOVE it!!! I love pictures!! It's so fun!!!
